Peter Max

Peter Max is also one of the most famous of all living artists, also known as a pop culture icon.
His work is known by bold colors, uplifting images and uncommon artistic diversity which have touched almost every phase of American culture and has inspired many generations.
He was great artist, he has painted for six U.S. Presidents, and his art is on display in Presidential Libraries in U.S Embassies. He made and art installation for the Continental  Airlines Boeing 777 Jet. It included an amazing 600-ft stage for the Woodstock music festival, a giant mural for the Winter Olympics and 10-ft guitars for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.



His early art influences were from Austrian expressionist, Professor Honik, with who he studied. He introduced him to the colorful world of Fauvism and the drawings of Henri Matisse, Maurice Vlaminck, Max Beckmann and Alexi Jawlensky. He did a record album cover for Meade Lux Lewis and the album cover won the annual Society of Illustrators award and many others.


Also he did a art of collages which were in common with the Dadaists- Man Ray and Marcel Duchamp and with the surrealists- Rene Magritte and Salvador Dali. They were pioneered by him. Later on he turned a lot of his art works into posters so he shared them with the youth of America. He created color combination, utilizing a ''split fountain'' technique that enabled him to blend colors as they were going through the ink rollers. This posters were visionary fascinated by time, space and evolution.
