Punk 1

Punk movement is so much known in the world by the music, the way of dressing and the by the typefaces they were using then. So innovative, nothing like that ever existed before. First it looked like a rebellion of youth but later on it was accepted by the people. People in this time wanted to break the boundaries and not to be struggled with the restriction of the Modernism. They were created a lot of DIY stuffs.

        
             
Pioneers of this movement are the Sex Pistols. Their behaviour and the way of dressing established and announced the way of Punk. With them started a new era of freedom. Jamie Reid- student who developed unique style of his own represented them. He was making collaged typography with random notes. He would just cut any letter that he liked in the magazines, made collage of them and photograph them. He invented a new style of playing with posters and broke the boundaries of grids. Everything what he did was accepted by something non appropriate, shocking but that's what put him in the important place of the history of graphic design.

       

One of the important designer is Barney Bubbles.
With this movement connected with the arrival of the Apple mac started a new era of creating so called ''ugly'' design.
